What does the SRS light mean on a Honda Accord?

it lights up red sometimes, and I don't know what the problem is.|||Airbag and seat belt pre-tensioners warning light.

Probably caused by bad wiring connections under the drivers seat.

Please take no notice of clutch's ill informed answer.

Airbags do not go off unless you crash the car.

The man is an idiot.|||You have a problem with the cars Supplemental Restraint System. You need to take it to a shop and have them hook up the computer. This will tell them what code is stored in the computer, then they can tell you what is wrong. Maybe an airbag or possibly a control unit. Otherwise there is not much you can do on your own.|||if it lights up for 6 seconds at startup, then goes out, all is normal. this is called bulb check, so you know its working. if it stays on, you have an srs problem. it is possible to clear srs codes in these cars without a scan tool.|||It is an "idiot" light. It means that the supplemental restraint system is mafunctioning.|||Safety restraining system|||airbags are not working|||It means there must be a malfunction on your Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). The SRS Electronic Control Unit can cause the air bag to deploy unexpectedly. This type of unanticipated air bag deployment could result in abrasion to the hands, arms, or face of a properly-positioned front seat occupant, or could cause more serious injury to an out-of-position occupant.

Please get it fixed soon..
