How old do I have to be to start on my way to SRS?

I am a 16 year old male in Texas, USA wishing to be a female. I have talked to my parents about this and they are slowly coming to accept this. It has now gotten to the point that they are willing to help me with this proses. I am a aware of the "Standards of care" but I am wondering, since time is very valuable in this, how early can I start this? Do I have to be 18? I know the legal age of consent in TX is 17 (if that matters).|||Well you could start seeing a therapist at your age. It's the first step in almost any transition besides a real life test. You might be able to start hormones at your age. Surgery is going to take a long time for you to save your money for.
