Does an existing marriage become void in florida if the male wants an SRS do to medical reasons?

Are the spousal privileges at risk if he gets the change legally?|||You asked: "Does an existing marriage become void in florida"

No. States view marriage as a private contract between two people and do not get involved. The only exception is a marriage fraudulently entered into and that does not apply to transsexual people. You might find the following web page interesting:

edit: What do you mean by "Medical reasons"? Transsexualism? A male doesn't get SRS, a transsexual woman does.

After SRS a transsexual women can change her birth certificate (legal sex) in 47 states, only Ohio, Tennessee and Idaho don't allow changes.... yet. As far as I know there has never been a marriage in the USA that was ended due to transition. The only person who end the marriage is one of the two in the marriage. Is that clear enough?|||i'm not sure about florida....i wouldn't be surprised if some of the old, antiquated laws and policies exist yet. but, here in indiana....while same sex marriage is illegal, there is no procedure in place to force divorce nor to annul.

so my wife and i, who just celebrated our 31st anniversary, could not marry today...as my legal gender has been changed, we are in a state of legal marriage anyway.

i take some childish pleasure in that. i kind of feel sometimes like we have managed something quite rare....sticking it to the man for once instead of having him stick it to us. i know, childish...but it still makes me smile.

much love and hope. pj|||The marriage does not become void just for wanting GRS anywhere.

I am not sure about Florida, but most places you stay legally married even if GRS is performed. Which means that Gay marriage becomes legal in most states in those weird instances.
