Can a SRS surround soundbar digital input, process surround sound if the input is digital dolby 5.1?

I want to buy a soundbar that has a digital input and is SRS output.

I am wondering if a dolby 5.1 digital format can be recognized and changed to surround sound or does the source have to provide some other format so that receiver can work properly.

Is there any simple way to make sure format is compatable?|||I googled this and couldn't find an easy answer, I don't see why not, most formats on DVD's are in dolby 5.1 or some 5.1 format.

Simple way to make sure it's compatible? Buy the soundbar, hook it up and let er fly !!|||You should go with Sony HT-CT150 3D Sound Bar System
