What does the feature SRS stand for in the Honda Accord? It is located on the dash board. I drive a 1997 Honda

The SRS feature has been highlighted in my car for about 3 Weeks now. Is it an indication that someting is wrong? How can I get it to go off.|||Being that your Supplementary/Secondary Restraint System (SRS) or as an Air Cushion Restraint System (ACRS), light is on, it is most likely a computer response telling you something is wrong. The SRS refers to the deployment of your airbag in case of a mishap. To switch it off you need to reset the SRS code which you can get done by your honda dealer. But you should know that this is a known problem in Honda Accord the light comes up sooner or later for no particular reason at all. My friends have driven the car for years with the light on without any problems. So, its nothing you should be worried about.|||Safety Restraint System. Either your seat belt, air bag, or anything else that is electronically bridged together with the SRS system in your vehicle. I wont take down the Safety Restraint System even though it is Supplemental Restrain System because that is what the original name should of been but marketing advised otherwise I suppose. Back in the early 90's when airbags where virgins that is.|||SRS in my car is where the air bags are located. When the passenger airbag is turned off a warning is shown on the dash, the passenger side front airbag should be turned off when smaller people are riding in that seat. heck your owner manual it should be in there|||It do mean supplemental restraint system. It for sure locate on every car dash board, not only 1997 Accord. I know that Honda do rock though!!!!! But when you say it highlight, that do not rock. You SRS definite have problem. It do not go off by itself. You definite need to get it fix. You Honda dealer know how fix correct. Hopeful it work after dealer do fix. Then you Honda will rock!!!!!|||Supplemental Restraint System(air bags) It is supplemental because it is not meant to replace seatbelt use. If the light is on it means that the air bag system is disabled and will not work in the event of a crash. Something that should be repaired because some insurance companies, because they base their rates on the vehicle having air bags, may not give you full medical coverage should you have a crash.
