What is SRS effect when dealing with music?

I got a droid incredible 2 recently and the only downside is that music doesnt play as loud as the ipod. So i was looking for a way to make it louder and came across this srs effect thing. I like to plug it into the car and play my music loudly. I really wish it could get louder, even on full volume.|||Surround Sound I believe
