Difference between SRS Audio Essentials and HD Audio Lab?

So SRS Labs is selling three programs right now. SRS Audio Essentials, SRS HD Audio Lab, and SRS iWOW. What is the difference between these three? Audio lab i think costs a little more than Essentials but essentials has a free trial... But really, what is the difference?|||SRS Audio Essentials is the latest PC software from SRS Labs, that has replaced HD Audio Lab. AE also has all new audio processing algorithms and includes TruVolume technology to keep your listening volume consistent between content sources. All in all, they do similar things to sound, but AE has new stuff, a better GUI and includes TruVolume.|||AE is essentially HDAL with a prettier face and it is a freebie not a trial, at least the basic version is. The PCWorld article here

http://www.pcworld.com/article/239374/srs_audio_essentials_enhances_sound_to_awesome_but_addictive_standards.html

describes the program. The paid version has a lot more bells %26amp; whistles but IMHO they don't do anything more than complicate things. The free version is nice, simple, and sounds great.

Does anyone know how to connect a sony SRS-D511 pc surround sound system to my TV or PS3?

I just bought a new sound sytem with the intention of using it to get surround sound for my PS3 games and blurays but when it came there was no optical cable input for the sound system and there seems to no other way to connect it. Does anyone have any ideas how i could do this, or even to my TV?|||Updated.

The SRS-D511 is a computer speaker setup, not really designed for home theater.

However, you can get by if your TV has stereo audio outputs.

If it does, you can buy a RCA to 3.5" adapter cable and connect the TV's stereo output to the Input 2 jack on the control box for the speakers. Also, make sure you turn on the Dual Stereo switch on the speaker control box.

After that, you should be all set.|||Will this give true surround sound?

|||No, despite finding the answer 'informative' it's wrong. You need an Av receiver or HCIAB for surround sound.

|||Sorry, it can't be done with that package. The system you've bought is for a PC and requires a sound card.

This site is full of people who see a speaker package and assume it will do the job and sound great. You really need to discuss your requirements with someone who knows what they're talking about and not some spotty computer geek who only wants to make a sale.

When your tv has a sound scheme like SRS Tru-Surround XT should HDMI output be set to Linear PCM or Bitstream?

Your TV can only decode 2 channels, so set it to Linear PCM.

I have a 2001 honda civic, airbag was recall and honda fix it, but the SRS light is still on?

I took the car to the dealer because of the recall but the srs light is still on. I asked why and they said that I needed to bring in for further service because that had nothing to do with the airbag. I would have to pay for this service.|||Yep.|||Before you take the car back disconnect negative on the battery wait 5 to 10 min. reconnect battery see if light goes out if light is still on look to see if you have something unpluged or loose|||What is your question? They said it was on and wasn't related to the recall so you have to pay. So my answer is you will have to pay for the repair.

How do I read SRS blinks on a Honda Civic ex 97?

I found this web page: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/misc/066000_065578.pdf

but I don't know how to apply the blinks to the chart. Thanks.|||those codes are the On Board Diagnostic II (OBD-II) emissions system code definitions. they are not the same as the SRS codes.

the SRS codes are an entirely different set of codes. there is an SRS connector that has to be jumped to get the blink codes. The codes are usually main system and component code like 1-1 or 6-3 ro 9-2 or the like.

if you have the code the repost with an edit and I can find that out for you. if you don't have the code and need to know how to get it, send me an email by clicking on the icon above my name to the left of this reply and I'll get information to you on how to do that.

Srs, do in-home halogen or fluorescent lights bother you? What kind of lightbulb do you use in your kitchen?

Seems too bright, but incandescent will soon be a thing of the past.|||After reading a book about the bad effects of florescent lights on humans, I switched the entire house back to incandescent lighting. I noticed the difference. florescent lights cause anxiety with some people.|||Fluorescents cast a green tint and talk about heat, halogens can heat half a room. Gonna be interesting when department stores switch over. I'm not happy with the alternatives, none of them. LEDs aren't bright enough. My kitchen had fluorescent tubes until one fine day when the manager agreed to replace them both, now with incandescents about to be outlawed, lord.|||I prefer incandescent. I don't think that the new type bulbs can be used on a dimmer switch. The only fluorescent lights I like are the under counter ones in a kitchen. Fluorescent lights distort colors and I don't like them for overhead use.|||I like the new bulbs for everything except reading, and they last a LONG time. Florescents and halogens are a little too bright for me, but if I were to have one anywhere, it would be in my kitchen.|||Incandescent|||I use LED downlights in my kitchen - no they don;t bother me at all. They light up the work benches but don't glare into my eyes.|||I use a fluorescent light in my huge kitchen.|||I use compact fluorescent and led lights|||Too bright for me. I was looking for an answer on honda civic 2001 SRS light?

And I found yours and now my question is how I can proof that I have few more moths from dose 10 years of warranty on the srs my car is 2001 I call the dealer and they toll me that only the seatbell is under warranty but not the rest of the sencers related to srs light. Thank you very much for your time I will be specting your answer.|||hi, i think what they are saying the sensors and relays etc, are not under warranty and so you will have to pay for the fault with the seat belt light,

What should I do about the SRS light in my 1997 accord?

The SRS light just came on in my 1997 honda accord, and was wondering if its something I need to get fixed immediately or will I be ok if I just dont do anything about it?? Money is kind of tight is why I ask|||the only problem will be the air bag won't deploy in an accident.|||GET IT FIXED FOR 50 BUCKS|||Take it to a good mechanic.|||It means there is a problem with the air bag system on your car. The only problem is that as long as its on or blinking your air bags may not work if you crash.................md|||with the SRS light on your supplementary restraint system (airbags and seat belt tensioners) will not function in a crash

so its up to you if you get them fixed.|||It should be checked by Honda only.

Call Honda's customer help line to determine if the system will still operate in a typical manner if the light is on.

I believe that the light is an indicator that the system may have a fault but I'm not 100%.

Talk to the people who designed and built the car to be sure as your safety is at stake.|||Any shop can look at this. It could be a variety of issues. Once the issue is solved the light will go out on its own (unlike a Check Engine Light).

What does the SRS light mean on a Honda Accord?

it lights up red sometimes, and I don't know what the problem is.|||Airbag and seat belt pre-tensioners warning light.

Probably caused by bad wiring connections under the drivers seat.

Please take no notice of clutch's ill informed answer.

Airbags do not go off unless you crash the car.

The man is an idiot.|||You have a problem with the cars Supplemental Restraint System. You need to take it to a shop and have them hook up the computer. This will tell them what code is stored in the computer, then they can tell you what is wrong. Maybe an airbag or possibly a control unit. Otherwise there is not much you can do on your own.|||if it lights up for 6 seconds at startup, then goes out, all is normal. this is called bulb check, so you know its working. if it stays on, you have an srs problem. it is possible to clear srs codes in these cars without a scan tool.|||It is an "idiot" light. It means that the supplemental restraint system is mafunctioning.|||Safety restraining system|||airbags are not working|||It means there must be a malfunction on your Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). The SRS Electronic Control Unit can cause the air bag to deploy unexpectedly. This type of unanticipated air bag deployment could result in abrasion to the hands, arms, or face of a properly-positioned front seat occupant, or could cause more serious injury to an out-of-position occupant.

I have a 95 mitsibushi Expo The SRS light is on?

I replaced the turn signal switch. I put everything back the way it was. Now the sight will not go out. Is there a way to reset it?|||You caused a problem -most likely with the "clockspring" in the steering column. Little you can do-the airbag is a dangerous sytem to work on. Honda Civic 2002 EX: How can I reset the SRS light, and radio is which is locked?

Honda Civic 2002 EX

My battery died yesterday, but I was able to recharge it. Now the problem is that I have the SRS light in the dashboard on, and the radio which is locked.

How do I fix those 2 issues?|||The SRS light could possibly be reset by disconnecting the battery negative cable for 5 minutes but this indicates some fault in the system which will require an analyzer to determine the cause. It will most likely come back on, indicating that the SRS system is inoperative. It may take an analyzer to reset the light even if there is no fault in the system. If you don't have the code to unlock the radio (see owner's manual) you will have to go to a dealer and have them unlock it. This is a theft prevention device so that it renders the radio inoperative if it is removed from the vehicle or in your case, has lost battery power. Also, you should check the alternator and the battery - one or both of these could be bad and continue to cause problems - possibly damaging sensitive electrical components.|||You probably have what is called a "body sensor" that has gone bad on your car. You should take it to a dealer to get the part replaced.

Can anyone tell me how to reset a srs service light?

I have a Volvo s60 2001 and I had removed the instrument panel to replace a bulb and when i refitted the panel the warning symbol came on stating ' srs airbag service urgent' Can anyone please tell me how to turn it off without going to Volvo?

Cheers|||you can try unhooking the battery for a couple of minutes to reset the computer but if that doesn't work you will have to take it to the shop and let them check the system out to make sure it's OK and then reset the light.|||I'm afriad a diagnostic tester is needed to reset it.

I am going to have SRS to become a woman in a short while, but I need some help with my mannerisms?

I have known since I was twelve that deep inside I was a girl and that I needed to be one on the outside, however, I am very masculine in my hobbies and in my behavior, I tend to get very angry at people all of the time and fight and cuss alot. I want to be more feminine, who can give me some pointers? Thanks for your help.|||The first question that pops to mind is this: Are you on HRT yet? Many find HRT helps them to relax and be themselves, their real selves. Being "feminine" shouldn't be the goal. The goal is to be yourself, your real self. Over the years you have built up many defenses to protect you from the world. During coming out, therapy and transition were slowly deconstruct these defenses and in the process become more of our true selves.

My advice would be to relax and cut yourself a LOT of slack. As you progress through transition people will react differently to you and you will react differently in return. You'll also subconsciously pickup on things other women do. It's a long complicated process that some therapists term "emergence". It's also why on some forums my signature line was: Be You!

Don't be a stereotype. Be You!|||Be who you are, you shouldn't feel the need to conform, should you?|||There are women out there with masculine hobbies and who cuss like sailors - my mom had an utterly rotten mouth on her (it's where I learned it from, lol).

You can try controlling your anger with meditation and breathing exercises. As for swearing, that's something you'll just need some self control with, and I know how difficult it can be to not swear!

Your hobbies are your hobbies, if it's something that brings you joy, by all means keep doing it. There is a documentary out called "100% Woman" about a MtF Canadian bike rider, and her attempts to continue riding competitively despite her gender reassignment and the arguments of her competitors. You might try giving that a look. Good luck.|||most girls act that way, i get angry easily and cuss a lot. (though i'm sure i'm suppose to be a guy!)

So um......when someone pisses you off just roll your eyes and shrug it off. Go about things with more grace. Cut down on the cussing. And just be yourself most girls aren't the prisses you see on TV.

If you become a girl you can just be a more down to earth gal by being yourself. You'll make a perfect girl!|||If you analyze everything you do, and stare into a mirror everyday you will be able to see the differences. Try a little self control with the potty mouth.

I really think you should be able to be yourself as a woman.|||You don't necessarily need to change, but if you want to I would say talk to your therapist. You should be seeing one since you are getting ready for SRS.

You are living full time so you should be ready for this. I have been living full time for two years now and I fit in perfectly with society. Nobody even suspects my genetic status. You just need to observe the women around you and act more like them. Talk to your therapist and work out your anger issues. Find out why you are so worked up|||Try to calm down a bit. Take yoga or something in order to calm your anger. For how you act try looking at other women and mimic what the do, act, say and other things in order for you to look more like a one of the girls.

Do transgendered people have to be willing to have a SRS?

Like I dress like a girl and everything, and would much rather be a girl than a guy, but I am not willing to get a full sex change. Like I would rather be able to change back and forth just for the fun of it, like people say "if you could be the opposite sex for a day" well I love having the ability to. And I wouldn't want an artificial vagina anyways. Like I would rather be a guy than a post-op transgirl, but I would rather be a girl than a guy.

Does this make me transgender or gender-queer?|||You are transgender and not transsexual then. And since you aren't transsexual chances are a therapist wouldn't sign off on your surgery anyway. You sound genderqueer to me.

ANYONE who gets surgery must provide consent. NOBODY is made to have surgery.

Common sense.

You seem to confused about what transgender is. It is an umbrella term that covers many diverse groups:

Transsexual people

Genderqueer

Genderf*ck

Androgynes

Cross-dressers

Bi-gender

Drag queens

Drag kings

and more.|||On the subject of transition and "all the way"... I tend to evade when people ask... because for me "all the way" is "when I am happy". Where ever that may be I don't even know yet.

This whole "one way to be trans" concept that you NEED to do EVERYTHING to be trans is bull. The only person you need to satisfy is you! If you're happy the way you are, then that is as far as you need to go.

But... there's nothing "artificial" about a transwoman's post operative vagina. At least, that's what I'm told.

And transgender is an umbrella term, that genderqueer falls under. You can call yourself whatever you feel right as.|||Well maybe, but there is a such thing as a non-op transsexual meaning you view yourself as much of a woman as a post-op transsexual does but don't feel the need for a surgery. Transition, in my opinion, isn't about "becoming a woman" but reaching a level of comfort within your own body. For some transsexuals, this means going the whole 9 yards, for others it might just being on hormones, people forget not everyone have the same wants and desires.|||denver, you sound very confused. don't try to be anything you are not. just relax, let yourself be who you are, not what you wish you were or what you think might be better to be. if you are you, you are better off than most.

much love and hope. pj|||Of course not. You're still every bit as transsexual, and every bit as much a woman, as a pre-op or post-op transwoman.|||%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;Does this make me transgender or gender-queer?

Yes.

Hope this helped!|||transgender, ur cool! dont worry ;bout it|||yes, they do have to be willing to go through SRS. however, it is highly unlikely that one would be forced to go through SRS, as transgenderism is seen as an abnormality and therefore bad.

that makes sence... frankly, I'd rather have been born a guy then go through SRS to have a fake phallus, but as it is, i wasn't.

personally, i believe that would make you gender-queer, as you aren't a set mindset.

good luck. %26lt;3 Alexandre|||take estrogen so you'll turn into a girl with a penis

This was a great car until I realized that it didn't come standard with airbags until the early 90's, is it possible to install airbags in a 89 lincoln mark vii, if so what is required, how would I go about doing it?|||Technically, given enough money and time you can do anything you want with any car out there. However, this is the kind modification every require so many parts and so many hours of labor that you would come out thousands of dollars ahead just to trade up. Better yet, just wear your seatbelt, the SRS systems have a bad habit of putting the people they are supposed to protect, into a hospital.|||Yes............the cost would be around $6000.00 dollars.

I am driving corrola 2000, and I can see the front seat air bag and front passenger seat air bag SRS on both side, but can't find any indications of side air bag SRS, how to check it front side air bags SRS are installed or not?|||There are a couple of ways to determine if your vehicle has side airbags (airbags in the seats-or curtains in the headliner) or not.

1) look to see if there is a tag sticking out of the seas of the seatback that says "SRS" or "Airbag". If it says that then there are airbags in the seats. If not then most likely, you do not have them.

2) call any Toyota dealer and give them the Vehicle ID #. They can look up all the accessories and components based on that number alone.

SRS Indicator On With No SRS DTC(s) Set

1996-03 Accords, 1996-03 Civics, 2000-03 Insights, 1996-03 Odysseys, 2003 Pilots, 19960-1 Preludes, and 2000-03 S2000s.

SERVICE TIP:

If the SRS indicator comes on periodically, and you can't find any SRS DTC(s) that are set, check the alternator charge voltage the instant the indicator comes on. A bad voltage regulator can let the system voltage exceed the allowable voltage threshold of the SRS control unit.

To check for a bad voltage regulator, hook up a voltmeter to the battery or connect the PGM Tester to the 16P data link connector. Test-drive the vehicle at high rpm with various electrical loads turned on and off. Watch the voltmeter or, if you're using the PGM Tester, monitor BATTERY on the display. If the charge voltage is around 16 volts , replace the alternator.

You are aware of the prototyping concept. There are divided views about including GUI prototypes in the SRS. ?

You are given 2 options:-

鈥?GUI details should be included in SRS

鈥?GUI details should not be included in SRS

Give your answer in the favor of any one view with valid reasons and arguments.

The answer should be concise and it should not exceed more than 1 page.

|||An SRS is a definition of what the software will do and how it is expected to perform. Assuming that your SRS is not for server-side software that does not have a significant UI component, any client-side SRS would clearly be impacted by the UI definition.

In fact, the argument should not be a "to include"/"to not include", but should be an argument of degree. In fact, on certain client-side software projects, the UI would be the only thing to essentially define.

Having said all of that, it still depends. If you customers demands it, you have no choice. If your customer demands other details, and does not give you time to define the UI in the SRS, them you have no choice. But, I can tell you that I would not accept an SRS without a UI definition. To me, it is the equivalent of misspellings on a resum茅.

You've been in one accident. Who to say you won't be in another?

As simple as waiting at a stop light (sign) and someone else doesn't stop and rear ends you.

You have no safety restraint/supplemental restraints what so ever. No airbags and no seat belts from what I gather from your question.

Is your life, and possibly the lives of anyone you may have in your vehicle worth the risk of driving the automobile without your safety equipment working?

Would you jump out of an airplane without a parachute because you had to send it off to be repaired?

I am almost sure that it is illegal in all States without seat belts.

If you were to drive and get into another accident and were injured without working safety equipment, you stand a VERY good chance of not being covered by either your or the other person's insurance for your own negligence.

If you are a legally licensed driver I imagine, so you are a "responsible grown adult" who should make the right decision. But in the end you are a grown (wo)man and you should already no the answer to your question.

I have 2 of my guys trained in proper maintenance and I am not a dealer I have a 35 year old shop and we do airbag and ABS service just like the big boys do. You need to get it in as it can false trigger but this light usually disables the bags.|||If you don't feel that there is a problem with the SRS, try disconnecting the batter for about 5 minutes and then connect it again. This resets all codes and problems stored in the car's computer and the light should go off. If it comes on again within a month or so, I recommend taking it in to the dealer.|||If the SRS light is on its because of a problem. If the DTC 9-1 is set, it will require replacement of the airbag module. Take it to the dealer for proper diagnosis. Airbags can kill you if you do something wrong.

Do I need to go to the dealer to have the SRS light turned off on my 2001 Civic?

It came on for unknown reasons about 2 months ago in the winter. Any idea why it is on and how to turn it off would be great!|||First of all, Autozone won't be able to turn the SRS light off as they only have the generic scan tool and that doesn't do the Honda SRS system.

There are about 15 reasons the light can come on. some of them are minor, such as a switch inside the seat belt buckle that senses when you have the seatbelt latched (a very common problem on civics) and some are more involved (the clockspring in the steering wheel or the airbags themselves). Each time the light comes on the computer stores a code to indicate why the light is on. As the test is run each time the ignition is turned on the chances of the light coming right back after you clear it are pretty strong if you're not making repairs.

you don't have to go to a dealer to have the code or codes retrieved. Any competent body shop can do it using the two pin connector under the steering wheel. they can retrieve the "blink code' and tell you what the problem is. If it is in the seat belt then you should take it to the dealer as Honda has a lifetime warranty on the seatbelts and that would be a covered item and replaced at no charge.

SRS: How does increasing the size of an SRS affect the sampling distribution of p^?

How does increasing the size of an SRS affect the sampling distribution of p^?|||I've just answered this in your previous question: "Statistics: Variability %26amp; SRS Samples of Population?"

If you look there, you'll find the formula for the s.d. of p_hat. So that increasind n by multiplying it by "m", reduces (devides) sd (or se) by sqrt(m).

For example, lets say the sd is 0.2 and the sample size is 100. If you increase the sample to 400 (multiply it by 4), the sd is devided by sqrt(4) = 2, i.e., sd = 0.1.

So what is the difference between a transsexual who really is one and is ready for SRS; and person who says?

...they are transsexual and wants to get a SRS, but is deemed unfit for one after the recommended psychological counseling?

Why is one mentally ill and not a likely candidate and the other is not, when they both really want the surgery?|||IMO anyone who is transsexual can be approved for surgery. People who are turned away are usually not transsexual. There are certain conditions that can mask themselves as transsexualism are cause people to THINK they are transsexual.

Further you pointed out the problem yourself: The person is "mentally ill". The whole point of psychological counseling is to show that transsexual people are NOT mentally ill. Which brings us back to what I already said: Some conditions mask themselves as transsexualism and people think they are transsexual.

Basically the Standards of Care are set up to keep non-transsexual people from making a BIG mistake they will regret, while at the same time providing support for those who are transsexual.|||I don't think there is a difference.

I think the desire alone says they are both trans.

Having surgery is not the defining factor of being transsexual. A lot of people see it that way though. Even within the trans community, there's a lot of underlying 'I'm more trans than you because I have had surgery" kinda thing going on, and I don't think that's right.

A lot of trans people don't get surgery for various reasons. Medical reasons, financial reasons, coming out on the job reasons, etc. I don't think surgery alone should be used as an indicator of how "truly trans" someone is.

I think the desire for SRS should be the indicator. I also think it's completely stupid that we have to go through a therapist, who is often NOT trans, to get their "permission" to get surgery. How can a cisgendered person possibly know about the desires a trans person has towards SRS surgery? I just don't think it's right.|||My suggestion would be to read the Standards Of Care(SOC) for yourself that way you can find out why this happens.

How old do I have to be to start on my way to SRS?

I am a 16 year old male in Texas, USA wishing to be a female. I have talked to my parents about this and they are slowly coming to accept this. It has now gotten to the point that they are willing to help me with this proses. I am a aware of the "Standards of care" but I am wondering, since time is very valuable in this, how early can I start this? Do I have to be 18? I know the legal age of consent in TX is 17 (if that matters).|||Well you could start seeing a therapist at your age. It's the first step in almost any transition besides a real life test. You might be able to start hormones at your age. Surgery is going to take a long time for you to save your money for.

Does an existing marriage become void in florida if the male wants an SRS do to medical reasons?

Are the spousal privileges at risk if he gets the change legally?|||You asked: "Does an existing marriage become void in florida"

No. States view marriage as a private contract between two people and do not get involved. The only exception is a marriage fraudulently entered into and that does not apply to transsexual people. You might find the following web page interesting:

What does it mean when the srs light stays on , on an 02 civic?

I think it has something to do with airbag or seatbelt. Does something trigger it when you start it up or drive it or does it just come on when there is something wrong with the saftey features.|||SRS is the airbag. When the light is on, it means the INTERNAL computer detected SOME error. It doesn't say WHAT ERROR.

Good luck.......|||There's something wrong. Take it to a mechanic for a diagnostic. Usually it's just a sensor.|||It means a fault with the system was found during the key on self test and the computer has disabled the air bag system.

The most common fault that I've seen is the clock spring under the steering wheel which connects the driver's side airbag to the deploy circuit.|||SRS

some issues with the airbag system. get it checked out if you want it functioning properly in the next head on accident.|||Something is wrong with the airbag, or its sensors. Seeing its s 2002 model, id guess somethings wrong with the sensors. Get it checked,|||SRS means supplemental restraint system, it's the airbag light. When you start the car the light comes on as it completes a self-diagnosis and then goes off when everything checks out OK. If the light doesn't go off it means it's detected a problem. Hard to say what it found without scanning it for a code but worst case scenario it means your airbag won't work in an accident. This could be between $300 - $700 to repair depending on what's wrong with it.|||SRS is the airbag.

With most cars the airbag connector cable runs under the driver seat so if you share the car with someone else and they move the seat back / forwards to accomodate their legs (!), then this can dislodge the cable connector.

You can sometimes fit your hands under the car seat and fix back together - but I have a fear of getting my hands stuck! - take to a garage and they can fix. A good garage will do this for free but you can always offer a small 'cash in hand' fee for them doing you a favour.

Keep in mind that whilst the airbag light is activated, it won't actually inflate were you to have an accident so get it fixed sooner rather than later.|||Here's a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system.

On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident.

The flashing light on your car is telling the answer you need. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.

How did the Bolsheviks differ from more moderate socialist groups like the SRs and the Mensheviks?

The Bolsheviks believed in the contraction of historical eras; i.e. Russia could swiftly pass through the capitalist stage, to the socialist stage. The Mensheviks were more orthodox Marxists. The SRs split into Left SRs %26amp; Right SRs. The Left SRs were similar to the Bolsheviks, but focused on the countryside. Question about breast augmentation surgery as a part of SRS?

I am a biological male researching and planning my eventual sexual reassignment surgery to become physically female. I have nipples that are quite small, even for a male. During breast augmentation surgery, would/could something be done to increase their size for a more natural appearance?|||I wouldnt concern yourself with nipple size, nipples vary in size with all females I'm sure there are many other things that are of greater concern. Also you may find that increasing the size of your breasts may cause your nipples to stretch and appear larger anyway.|||Is this for real??? Nipple size?!? I wish nipple size was my biggest concern prior to Transitioning. I was too busy focusing on how to keep from killing myself. Seriously, who cares? You get what you get, just like any cisfemale. I think your "research" should be on finding a gender therapist to first determine if you are even suffering from Transsexualism.|||on the off chance that you're for real, look up the tanner scale. my boobs are about tanner stage 4, which is common for trans women. if you're older than about 15 when you start on hormones, you won't make it to stage 5.

We dont generally get lower surgery, because of the risks and the cost. Also, it doesnt work too well, and of course you get what you pay for.

But either way you have no way to ejaculate. That has not been invented yet. |||*grrr* Don't. Interchange. Sex. And. Gender. Not the same thing!

Why do transsexual have to go through psychological counseling before they get SRS?

If it is not a choice, why the therapy.|||The reasons are 3 fold:

1. Liability protection for the doctors and surgeons.

2. Weed out non-transsexual people who THINK they are transsexual.

3. Provide support for the transsexual person during transition. Many will say it's not necessary, but in reality transition can be a VERY stressful time. In fact I think transition is one of the most challenging things a human being can do. As a result I think that anyone that says they don't want to have a therapist to help them manage it all is a glutton for punishment. Let's list some of the areas conflict can arise:

Spouse

Family

Friends

Church

Employment

Insurance

Healthcare

Society as a whole

Learning a whole new way of presenting ones self and the rules involved.

Almost forgot.... Hormones!

It can be, and often is, overwhelming. A therapist helps us manage it all and remain in one piece. Personally I didn't look upon it as "gate-keeping", I looked at it this way: I was hiring someone to help maximize my chances of success.

Hope this helps.|||It's not so much for the trans person's protection, as much as it is to cover the a**es of the doctors and surgeons involved.

This way if a trans person should for whatever reason, regret their decision following their surgery, the docs and surgeons have a recourse of "well, we explained the consequences and they were ok with everything that was discussed" kind of thing.

Trust me, nothing goes on in the medical field without TONS of documentation. I should know. I work in a hospital. I'm also trans by the way too.

We don't just get counseling before the SRS. We get counseling long before that. Before we ever even start hormones we go through counseling. It's part of a ritual some self appointed brainiac psychologist thought we needed called the Harry Benjamin Standards of Care. It's a way to make sure we're following the 'correct' transition path, so we (more like THEM) don't make any mistakes or cause any more undue emotional and psychological suffering to the patient.|||A primary reason is to ensure that the person about to go through surgery is in fact transsexual. There are other psychological conditions that can mask themselves as the person thinking that they are transsexual. One of those conditions is Bipolar Disorder. Another is a homophobic gay person. They feel that the reason they are attracted to someone of their physical sex is because they must really be the other gender; aka they cannot possibly be a gay person because they despise gays so much.

Besides protecting the surgeons, this has the effect of trying to assure that the process has a very high success rate. For someone to fake their way through the process, the results are a disaster. The person is turned into a transsexual by the surgery. This has happened.

Frequently, transpeople are also dealing with symptoms of depression and/or anxiety. The therapist helps to keep a watch on those symptoms and to keep those symptoms in check.

For me, my therapist is my ally in the transition process, not a gatekeeper.|||The psychological assessment is to ensure that only those who are trans undergo transition.

There are apparently a few other situations where a person will think they need SRS and such. One is OCD... which boggled my mind when I was told about that (by the woman who did my psychological assessment). Others are things of a sexual nature, like suppressed abuse or such. That's not to say being diddled as a kid makes you trans, it just makes you all sorts of messed up if you don't have that dealt with and can confuse you and make you want to run as far away from the situation as you can.

"therapy" and "counseling" are sort of odd terms to me, because neither apply to my transition. I walked into my GPs office, asked for a referral to an endocrinologist, had to go in for a brief assessment to ensure I was trans, and within four hours of "psychological evaluation" it was confirmed I'm trans and that HRT and SRS were right for me.

I didn't need anyone to tell me I'm trans, it's just a protective measure to ensure that I can't go sue the doctors later for doing what I asked of them.|||"Gender therapy is for people who either:

As long as a patient has a minimum of two evaluations by the same therapist a year apart when living as their target gender, that will suffice.

My boyfriend seen a therapist only twice in his life and had top surgery eight years ago. I only seen a therapist once for a letter to change the sex designation on my driver license and a letter for hormones. The same therapist I've seen agreed to give me my letter for SRS the next time I see her when I spoke to her years later. I haven't done that because I can't afford SRS at the moment. This is from a therapist that is by far the most experienced and conservative with her approvals in Portland, OR.

I was living as a female full-time already for barely over the three months minimum for hormones, already on hormones from a clinic in New York City, a legal name change process filed and pending, living 290 miles away in southern Oregon from the nearest gender therapist, and a lack of a previous sexual history (gay or straight) when she approved me.

Although three months living full time is a necessary requirement for hormones and a year for surgery, counseling is NOT necessary during that time. Just proof of living full time is.

No ethical therapist can deny you surgery if you've been living full time as your target gender for years and can prove it.

Gender therapy is for people who either:

1) want sissy training (gender therapist substitutes for usually dominatrix, sometimes dom) with a certificate redeemable for a vaginal graduation badge to be bestowed on the crotch of the sissy submissive at the end of the training

3) desperately wants to feel intimacy and understanding from another person (usually from a woman) to the point they will pay for it with money they usually can't afford.

If you want to live as the opposite gender than that of what every one else told you that you have to live as growing up, you can without other people's permission (especially a sissy trainer's or boi trainer's).

The trainers are there for those that want them (and most SRS seekers seemingly do) however; often as a free complimentary or heavily discounted service when they buy health insurance.

How do I tell my mom that I feel like a girl, and I never felt like a boy. That I want to get SRS.|||((((((Eian)))))

That's hard. I've never had to do anything quite like that myself, seeing as I'm cis, but I have had to come out to a whole bunch of different people about being a number of other things, anyway. And in general: it seems like there are some things that might be helpful to take into account during coming out situations, completely regardless of what you are coming out AS:

1. Make sure that they're in a good mood. Try to talk to them about it when they're relaxed and at ease. Throwing it at them as part of an argument, or as a way of getting back at them, would be a horrible idea, and would have an incredibly high likelihood of backfiring.

2. Try to appear certain and confident. If you show doubts or weaknesses about your own identity, they can easily use that against you. Or it might make them less likely to believe you.

3. Research first! Make sure that you're able to answer any questions they might have.

4. Emphasize the fact that you're still the same person, regardless. The only difference is that now you are being far more honest than you previously were, and that is a good thing.

5. Instead of coming out right away, try to talk about the topic at hand first, so that you get a basic idea of what their opinions are in relation to it. (In your case: that would be discussing the fact that there are transsexual people out there. Maybe you can pretend as if a friend of yours recently came out as an MtF or an FtM. Ask your parents what they think of it...) The more positive of a response you get, the more likely they are to accept YOU, when or if you decide to come out to them directly.

6. Give them time. It will probably be a lot for them to handle, and if they want a break just to think about it and try to come to terms with it, you should give them that.

Best of luck. :)|||Why are you asking this?

What difficulty do you have in telling your mom these things?

Why couldn't you just say, "Mom, I feel like a girl, and I never felt like a boy. I want to get SRS."

Again, I don't know why you need to ask your mom, unless you want her to pay for you to have your penis cut off, in which case it would concern her.

I understand that you can do whatever you want, but realize that once you get yourself castrated there's no turning back. Oh, and getting your penis and testicles removed, plus getting breast implants and hormone therapy doesn't make you an actual woman. That's right, you'll never really be a woman, you'll be nothing but a fake pretend woman.

Think about it. People that get SRS are absolutely deranged. You need mental help more than you need your dick cut off.

I wish you the best.

Is there a polite way to encourage a son to have SRS?

I'd really like our adopted son, Jasmine, to grow up and embrace femininity. How can we go about convincing him to join the stronger sex?|||uhh......maybe you can- no..................uh..................鈥?i got nothin, sorry :||||then you should have adopted a girl

I would not be surprised if you end up dead- its a known fact that adopted children are more prone to being killers, research has shown , google it! so when the little fella sticks a knife in you when you sleep dont be suprised...|||whats your problem? i will be surprised if this does not end up on yahoo answers fail blog or if cps dosnt figure out this child needs a new home

On a 2002 Honda Accord, what does it mean if the SRS light stays on on the dashboard display?

My manual does not tell me anything useful and would like to avoid waiting at the dealership if possible.|||Do not, i repeat do not let anyone touch your vehicle that is not experienced in airbags and supplemental restraint systems. For the safety of yourself and your passenger. I am an experienced airbag remover and installer. If i can be of any assistance just let me know. Do not attempt to work on or analyze any components of the system until battery has been disconnected and a few minutes have passed by due to back up power in the modules that can deploy the airbag unit and cause bodily injury. The light is an indication of a malfunction and not always necessarily a sign that airbag is inoperable. Could be many explanations depending on certain factors and i strongly suggest a credible experienced person check your car out.|||You have an issue with the air bag system. If you want to avoid the dealer then you will have to see a good Auto Electrician as they will have the gear to clear the code or atleast tell you what is required to repair it.|||It means there is a problem in the supplemental restraint system (airbag, seat belts...) As long as that light is on the Airbags are NOT working! You don,t need to go to the dealer .Most good repair shops can work on them. Good luck.

How can I set up my Wii on my Samsung SRS trusurround hd tv?

It would appear that I am missing a cable of some sort. I have only have two input jacks on the back of my tv and none of the colors match the Wii plug ins. Any info on what kind of cable I need to buy?|||You need the Wii Componet Cables

This should allow you to hook your Wii up to the HDTV

How does arousal feel after a MtF SRS?

I guess it would have to differ from Male type arousals, but I also heard that after SRS, the neo-clitoris will get engorged with blood during sexual arousal. Is this true, and how does it differ from male arousal and I would like to know what feels better male or female arousal?|||hi ashley. i won't try to give you a technical answer. for me, arousal in the male body was disgusting...it never felt good to me, it was humiliating at best, i hated it so i can't compare the pleasure between male and female arousal. but, i can tell you that now, for me, arousal is a pleasurable experience. i'm not disgusted anymore, i welcome it...i like it.

so, that's the difference for me.

much love and hope. pj|||The main difference isn't physical, it's hormonal. Once you are on HRT your arousal/sexual response changes towards a more female pattern. Also during arousal in women the clitoris does become erect. Does it feel better? Well if you were born transsexual and have a female brain...YES.

And don't worry about Jeune, he's just jealous.|||With the irreparable loss of 80%+ of nerve tissue in the penis mutilated by crudely cosmetic "SRS," you'd think there wouldn't be much left to feel arousal--or anything else--with. But we are speaking of a condition--transsexualism-- which is basically delusional, or hallucinatory, or simply fake, to begin with; and actual feeling--physical sensation--may not count for much where there is a great need to present the appearance of feeling something.

"Hormonal," I must say, is a deliciously evasive way of saying "phony/imaginary." The next time I'm caught out in a lie, that's what I'll say: "I didn't mean to give the impression that I can speak Turkish (am a world-class figure skater, know how to play Go)--That was just my hormones speaking. What I meant of course is that I FEEL as if I could speak Turkish. Hormonally."

How do I reset the SRS light on my 2005 Honda Accord?

My dad's friend installed an oxygen sensor and I think he set off the airbag sensor. I have a fuse box near the brake pedal so its not like many other how-to guides online. I dont want to go to the Honda dealer because I'm short on cash but my car needs to be inspected by the end of the month. Thanks!|||go to youtube and type in honda srs reset, there's vids of how to check for codes and how to reset the srs. worked for me

What can be the reason why my srs light came on im my 1994 honda civic?

My SRS light has been on in my car for awhile now someone said i needed break shoes is that true?|||there is no simple answer on your SRS problem other than to say it is definetly NOT your brake shoes!

The SRS is your Supplemental Restraint System (otherwise known as "Airbags"). The light comes on when the computer senses something is malfunctioning in the system. There are about 6 components and 15 possible 'problems' that can turn the light on.

the important thing for you to know is that if the SRS light is ON, your airbags will not work under any circumstances. The airbag system is shut off when a problem is detected so that the airbags don't accidently go off because of whatever problem was detected by the computer.

I would recommend you stop by a honda dealer or any body shop and have them run the diagnostic test to find out why the light is on. once you know why its on you can get an estimate for repair and decide at that point if you want to make the repairs or not.

hope that helps

How do you reset SRS airbag warning light?

Will taking the fuse out for 5-10min reset this? Is the car diagnostic tool the only other way besides going to a mechanic to reset this?|||Takes a scan tool to read the codes and data . Then the scan tool is used to turn the light off after repairs are made. .

any good body shop can make the repairs.|||There is no way to reset it.Either the system is intact and working or the light is on and will stay on until the fault is fixed.|||On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. This website gives you the procedure for diagnosing and resetting airbag lights on the ...scanlist.aspx page listed below.

The flashing light on your car is telling there is a problem. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Your vehicle will require a scan tool for the proper diagnosis, (and not the scanner at Auto Zone鈥irbag systems cannot be ready by that system) but here's a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.

Airbagsolutions.com has the fault code charts to tell you what is wrong! Although it鈥檚 a pay site ($14.95/day), it鈥檚 a lot cheaper than going to the dealer.

Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate systems without a scanner (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda %26amp; Mercury) . Most all other vehicles require a scan tool for the diagnosis. Here is a link to the list of vehicle and scanner requirements.

Check out these websites also for more info on airbag systems and the light.

Lastly, check your vehicle for recalls through this link.

Is trans sexuality the only reason SRS exists?

And without trans sexuality, cisgendered people would've never even thought of the ability to change sex?

Or would people eventually have come up with something like SRS if trans sexuality didn't exist?|||No.

Hard as it may be for you to believe, almost all of the surgical procedures which fall under the collective heading of 'SRS' were not originally developed solely for trans people.

Vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, breast augmentation/reduction et.c. are also used to reconstruct the bodies of cis people following trauma, disease, physical intersex conditions or congenital deformity. Anyone who needs any of these surgeries can have them.|||the things that go through your mind phuck phace,,, good grief...

i guess they would have still come up with the surgery to use in the witness protection program... hahahahahha!!|||i can think of no other reason.

edit: hmmmm....pardon me, genius'. i thought the question was about "sex reassignment surgery." changing one's sex from one to another.

so....for all the thoughtful thumbs down...i still can think of no other reasonable answer to THIS QUESTION.

edit: just as some people are far more concerned with sounding like a girl than actually being a girl, some people are far more interested in sounding smart than actually knowing what they are talking about. what is "essential" to srs, %26lt;sex reassignment surgery%26gt; from m.t.f is a penis.

some of the procedures within the operation are very similar but not the same.....and by no conceivable means are they "essentially" or any other "ally" the same.

that is the same mindless information certain people around here spread all the time. but if you spoke with an actual surgeon, someone who does the operations, not just talk about them, and suggested that any of the operations these people are talking about are "essentially" the same as srs she would laugh you out of her office.....too ignorant to even discuss it with.

yes....if not for transsexualism, s.r.s would be a moot procedure.|||If transsexualim didn't exist I doubt SRS would exist. There would be no point to come up with such techniques much less spend the time and energy developing and improving on them.

Edit:

I can't believe I forgot to consider some intersex conditions, trauma, etc. With Diane's answer in mind I'd have to change my answer to this one.|||Diane is correct. There is another category of people who need that kind of surgery: Women born with MRKH Syndrome. They are born without a vagina and sometimes without a uterus. There are other parts of the syndrome as well, but those are the relevant parts for this question.

http://www.mrkh.org/

"The Missing Vagina Monologue" is an interesting read. There is also a video of that available on the net somewhere.

Essentially the surgery for these women, if they decide to get it, is the same as SRS.

If a transexual gets SRS but doesnt change their gender on their birth certificate?

Could they still marry their lesbian/gay lovers regardless of the state/country they live in?|||I think you're going to confuse people because lesbian/gay lover can be interpreted two different ways.

Based on identified gender OR based on gender as assigned at birth.

Assuming you're referring to the identified gender of both parties (not gender as assigned at birth):

No. Marriage is based on legal sex (birth certificate). Unless you get married in a state with marriage equality it's not going to happen. Well you might slip by, but it will be fraud in the eyes of the law.

And why on Earth wouldn't they change their birth certificate? I applied for a court order to change mine as soon as I got back from SRS.

--------------------

For example a transsexual woman could marry another woman BEFORE she changed her birth certificate, but not after.

A transsexual woman could not marry a man until after her birth certificate had been changed. Because of how this question was written some might view them as being gay.

-----------------

If you live in Spain I don't see a problem. Don't they have marriage equality?

Also, legal protections and laws are in flux right now. When the dust eventually settles you will be able to change your birth certificate. Europe is at the forefront of change and I know there are several cases pending in the European Court of Justice (or whatever it's called).|||Yes, as M2F lesbian transsexual if I has SRS but did not get my birth certificate changed I would still be legally male. So I could marry a woman and we would have a technically gay marriage. But I would not do that, I am a woman and I would not get married as a man.|||Yes.

What does a vagina feel like after MtF srs compared to having a penis.?

Is the urge to pee the same and is it harder to hold.

Does it feel weird not having any thing between the legs.

Does the new clitoris feel different compared to the penis when erect.

Can you feel the dilater when dilate.

Is their any tucking technique that simulates having a vagina.|||"What does a vagina feel like after MtF srs compared to having a penis.?"

WONDERFUL. Flat against the curves of my body, form-fitting in clothes, "right" in sex, aethetically complete, and on and on. Perfect. Calming.

"Is the urge to pee the same and is it harder to hold."

At first after surgery it was really hard to hold and I even had a couple minor accidents around the house. But I recovered just fine as my body adjusted.

"Does it feel weird not having any thing between the legs."

For the first time in my life, it felt *right*. It felt weird my entire life before that. I was amazed that there wasn't even the slightest bit of phantom limb syndrome or the like; I touched the bandages and for the first time, my hand felt what it expected to feel.

"Does the new clitoris feel different compared to the penis when erect."

Certainly feels smaller and less turgid. ;)

"Can you feel the dilater when dilate."

You better believe it. ;) It's a stretching feeling, although not painful if you go slowly. Now, if you move it around a bit much and at the right angle, you *really* feel it. ;) hehe

"Is their any tucking technique that simulates having a vagina."

Not even close, I'm sorry to say.|||You still have the same urges to pee. It isn't different. However, it is a little harder to hold and when you pee you better be ready.

Absolutely not. Not have that thing between my legs is very calming to me. My dreams have come true.

The clitoris feels somewhat the same when the penis is erect; however, the same is always the same for both genetic girls and girl who had the surgery. MtF can just compare the two better.

Yes. At first it is very uncomfortable. The vagina is very new and your body wants to close it up. The dialation gets better everytime you do it. Its just like a genetic girl loosing their virginity.

I don't know. I never needed to tuck. Being intersex to begin with i was not naturally "endowed."|||how does ur hand feel like being attached to ur arm

How do I fix my SRS panel problem? My cruise/horn work, but then they dont, then will work 2 minutes later.?

Ever since my SRS light has came on, my cruise or horn dont work. but sometimes when i start my car they will work but then a minute later it wont. Someone said it was the Clockspring. If so.. how do i fix that?|||replacing the clockspring is what you need and the replacement should be done by a professional who is familiar with air bag technology. first disconnect the battery and wait for about 20 minutes. the drivers airbag, steering wheel, and column covers must be pulled. the clock spring is centered when you buy it so prior to pulling any parts off, your front wheels should be straight ahead or close to it. be very careful. if you set the airbag off, its like a 1/4 stick of dynamite going off and can kill you.|||Most likely it has a clockspring problem especially with the horn and cruise also failing. The clockspring is mounted under the steering wheel on top of the turn signal switch in most cars. Unless you are sure of this procedure ,I would take it to a reputable repair shop and explain to them the symptoms. They will probably still want to perform diagnostics on it, but that would be better than guessing at the problem. Clockspring on a chrysler product can be about $125.00 plus labor of about 1.5 hours. Should not cost much more than $300.00 or so.

Hope this helps

How to turn off my SRS Air bag light off ?

today suddenly my SRS light got on and its no getting off its on any body knwo what wil be the probelem and how to fix it ? suggest me if i take the dealer how much it wil cost to fix it ? plz help thanks.|||is it on a honda? its a common problem, what happens is that after a while it will just turn on so that it reminds you that you need to have your airbags checked. i mean theres nothing usually wrong with them, but have to take it to a shop or dealership for that light to turn off. and to have them check the airbags. its an annoyance, but you can drive with it on no big deal, ive never tried to get it to turn off, but you can go ahead and try to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then hook it back up and see if that clears all the trouble codes, im not positive if it will work though.

How do I completely disconnect the srs light in a 2001-2005 honda civic?

I have a drivers side air bag that deployed in an accident I had last winter. I fixed the body myself, but I haven't changed the seat or fixed the air bag. I don't really care too either! I just want to disconnect the light so I don't have to look at it.

How do I blow the fuse, cut the wires, or break this light?|||Disabling this light is AGAINST THE LAW!

removing the fuse, cutting the wire will not turn the light out. You must remove the dash and either remove the bulb, break the bulb or repair the malfunction.|||Even if you disable it, the error is still set in the computer, and will show up on any scan. If you sold this to somebody they could come back on you later legally.

How would a girl who is bi react to fact I wear female clothes and think of undergoing srs.?

I'm a guy and want her to be my gf. She is fascinated with fashion designing and clothes, loves undergoing look-metamorphsis. What to do? How to tell her that?|||People react differently to that kind of thing. I can't tell you how she will react. I know couples who have broken up over that kind of thing and couples who have grown stronger through the process.

Be honest with her from the beginning. Maybe ask her to go shopping with you, and point out the girl clothes you like. =D

How can i turn off the SRS light in the dash of my 2k Accord?

I had some wiring problems with the seatbealt conection. I fixed it, but the light didn麓t turn off.|||what that guy said. just go to a local autozone or an automotive repair shop. have them plug in the diagnostics reader into the port located under your dash. near the fuses, they will read it and reset it. i had the same problem with my 98 civic hb same with my service engine light. i put headers and forgot to put the lower o2 sensor back on so i needed to reset it after placing it on|||do you have a diagnostic tool? you can clear the code, just plug it into the obd2 port.|||I highly doubt you can turn off an air bag light with a scanner, the feds would not allow that because you could turn it off and sell the car w/o the new buyer knowing and be sued. I would try removing the fuse, that worked on the last foreign car I had. Otherwise, gotta either get it fixed or take out the bulb.|||remove the bulb from behind the dash

What does it mean when the SRS light comes on in a 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer?

And what does it take to fix it? And how much will it cost?|||SRS. Supplemental Restraint System, or air bags.

If there is a failure in the sensors, SRS unit, inflator, or their circuits, the SRS indicator light in the Gage assembly comes ON. As a system check, the SRS indicator light also comes on when the ignition is first turned ON to the (II) position. If the light goes off after approximately six seconds, the system is okay. If the SRS indicator light remains on (or fails to come on in the system chock mode), one of the SRS components (or the wiring/connectors in-between) is faulty.

Each individual component needs to be checked to determine where the problem is. Since there is a very real possibility that the airbags may deploy while testing the system, I highly recommend letting a dealer test it.

Cost of course will vary as to what they find wrong.|||I'm assuming you're not in the USA since we don't have 07 Lancers except for fleet vehicles. That aside, you shouldn't be paying for anything unless you wrecked it or managed to put more than 60K miles on it. Most SRS lights I see pertain to the passenger system, OCS. I don't believe your car needs it calibrated like most other mitsubishi's do. The only suggestion is to look under the driver's seat and make sure those connectors are connected, I've seen people put stuff under there and bust them loose. If it's not connected, DON'T connect it unless you first disconnect the battery for at least one minute. I'd take it back to the dealer, but this is a common fix on that gen Lancer should you feel qualified to fix it.

How can I get rid of the "SRS" light on my Honda, quick?? Driving test in two weeks!!?

I have a driving test in two weeks and the SRS light just came on today!! Ahhhh!!!!! How can I get rid of it, fast? Thanks!|||Guess who won't be taking their driving test in two weeks? The ONLY way to get rid of an SRS code is to fix the underlying problem. You CANNOT reset the code. You have NO choice on this, you must get it fixed.

The manufacturers do this on purpose due to legal liabilities. In fact, the SRS computer keeps track of how many time you've driven the car with the SRS light on. If you ever get into an accident with a passenger and they're injured because the airbag didn't go off, the first thing the other person's insurance company will do is read the computer. When they find out you drove with the light on but didn't fix it, they'll take you to the cleaners. This is a HUGE liability for you. So never drive with a passenger as long as that light is on.

How do transsexual people deal with gender dysphoria in countries where SRS isn't available?

I mean other than the obvious, "They go to a different country where they offer that kind of medical treatment." What if they don't have enough money to travel?

In areas where they're stuck without aid, do they have higher suicide rates?|||Yeah transsexualism is not as taboo as homosexuality surprisingly, but in many countries transition is still not an option for the majority of the population. They deal with it the way people dealt with it before transitions became big, they live with it.

But don't worry, gender dysphoria isn't quite as bad until you find out you have a way to change it, when you find out transition is available thats when you start becoming impatient and stressed out more, and most people in those countries don't even know what transsexualism is.|||Which countries are you talking about? Most have it, even places you wouldn't expect- in Iran, for instance, SRS is completely legal and encouraged for transwomen.|||In short, not well. Not having access to medical resources in any sort of situation where you need them causes any person high levels of stress which impacts their health. It's a snowball effect.

Suicide rates are high among the trans community, particularly when (for various reason) a person who needs to transition cannot. From where I stand, you transition or you die. At your own hand or very slowly and in agony.

Gawd, that sounded dark... but that's how I view it. Granted not everyone has the exact same needs, so many people find their happy place prior to "full SRS".|||I imagine they lead incredibly bitter, sad lives. That is if they don't kill themselves. In the bad old days 50% of transsexual people here in the USA used to kill themselves. With treatment that number is way down, but still elevated as not everyone can afford treatment.|||In some very poor countries (i.e. Africa) being openly transsexual is a death sentence, so not having access to SRS is the least of their worries.

Transsexualism is just one of a long list of conditions that go untreated in poor, technologically stifled countries. Many people grow up and just live with cleft lips/palates, club feet, and other physical deformities. Even in third-world countries, most transpeople can get a hold of estrogen, since it's a fairly cheap and easy to produce drug. They basically end up living as non-op people for the rest of their lives, and a great many end up working in various sex trades.

What year did mandatory passenger srs airbag start?

Hi i am rebuilding a car and originally came with dual airbags. But the new dash i got is meant for this car but only have single airbag, no passenger side. I will be going to CHP for a vin verification, will i need to change out my dash again?

if someone have a link to where it shows what year dual is mandatory it will help me greatly. maybe i can print something out to show the vin officer. If i remember correctly, dual wasnt mandatory until 98 and my car is a 96.|||Try this site and just ask so that you can get the correct answers to your questions........

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/contacts/contacts.鈥?/a>

On 11 July 1984, the U.S. government amended Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 208 to require cars produced after 1 April 1989 to be equipped with a passive restraint for the driver. An airbag or an automatic seat belt would meet the requirements of the standard. Airbag introduction was stimulated by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.[8] Airbags were not mandatory on light trucks until 1995.[citation needed]

In 1998, FMVSS 208 was amended to "require dual front airbags", and de-powered, or second-generation airbags were also mandated. This was due to the injuries caused by first-generation airbags, though FMVSS 208 continues to require that bags be engineered and calibrated to be able to "save" the life of an unbelted 50th-percentile size and weight "male" crash test dummy.

http://www.dot.gov/new/index.htm

That requires automakers to install them (or other passive restraint) on new vehicles. Nothing to do with the legalities of removing them.

You can legally operate your car on the streets without airbags.

How to fix the Honda Accord SRS light just come on?

Just just wash my Honda 2000 Accord EX engine last week and now the SRS light come on the dashboarb. Can you tell me how to fix it?|||it will either be a 9-3 like somebody else said or a opds sensor. either way it will be covered. honda's have a lifetime warrenty on there seat belts, and there is a warrenty extension on the opds system.|||Common problem with 2000 Honda Accord, The passenger side SRS controller melfunction and spit out SRS code.

Take it to Honda dealer and complain.|||You could have gotten water in the impact sensors at the front of the car. If it doesnt go off by itself find the little blue two pin connector under the dash and jump it with a paper clip. The srs light will flash the codes when you turn the key on. Use the code to determine the cause of failure. You will need a repair manual with abs code id's in it.

(long flash, long flash, short flash, short flash = code 22)|||It is very very very very unlikely that washing your car had anything to do with the SRS light.

MOST components in a Honda SRS system are covered under warranty. I am betting that you have code 09-3 which is the "driver`s seat belt buckle".

If that is the case, the repair will be free. Just go down to the dealership and have them scan it. There should be no charge for it.
